The US and the EU recently launched their Chip Acts to ensure security of supply, resilience and technological leadership in semiconductor technologies and applications. A similar initiative is on-going in Switzerland. Join us for next week's Swissphotonics lunch chat by Reinhard Voelkel , CEO of SUSS MicroOptics who will talk about the Swiss Chip Act, its goals and perspectives.

Dr. Reinhard Voelkel received his Diploma in Physics in 1989 and his PhD in 1994 from the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg, Germany, worked at the University of Neuchatel, Switzerland, is co-founder and CEO of SUSS MicroOptics SA, expert for Innosuisse – the Swiss Innovation Agency, member of the DGaO, SSOM, EOS, Senior Member of OSA, SPIE Fellow and member of Sand Hill Angels. He is author or co-author of more than 200 scientific publications.

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing Director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
