Prof. Dr. Niels Quack, Director IMS CHIPS, Stuttgart
Niels Quack is Professor in Microelectronics at the Faculty of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Stuttgart. He serves as Director and Chairman of the Board of the Institute of Microelectronics Stuttgart (IMS CHIPS), a publicly funded research and technology organization, operating a 1400 sqm ISO4 manufacturing clean room including wafer scale Si, SiN and LiNbO3 photonics lines. Prior to joining the University of Stuttgart, Niels was Associate Professor and Director of the Research and Prototype Foundry at the University of Sydney. From 2015 to 2021 he was Assistant Professor at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland, and from 2011 to 2015 Postdoctoral Researcher and Visiting Scholar at the Berkeley Sensor and Actuator Center at University of California, Berkeley, CA, USA. From 2014 to 2015 he was Senior MEMS Engineer with sercalo Microtechnology, Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He received the M. Sc. degree from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, in 2005, and the Dr. Sc. degree from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich (ETH), Switzerland, in 2010.

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing Director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, former Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
