EXALOS, a technology-driven company, specializes in the design, development, manufacturing, and sales of advanced semiconductor light source solutions, with a focus on Superluminescent Light Emitting Diodes (SLEDs) and Laser diodes (LDs). Over the past 15 years, the company has expanded its offerings beyond well-established infrared sources that serve markets such as Optical Coherence Tomography or Fiber Optic Gyroscopes. This expansion includes the development of new products featuring visible light emission, targeting diversified applications such as displays, metrology, machine vision, or spectroscopy. In this lunch chat, Dr. Rossetti will introduce SLEDs and Fabry-Perot laser diodes with emission wavelengths between 400 and 650 nm, along with reporting on some application examples.

Dr. Marco Rossetti, R&D Manager EXALOS AG
Marco Rossetti is a Physics graduate of the University of Rome La Sapienza and earned his PhD from the Ecole Polytechnique Fedèrale de Lausanne. As a research scientist at the Sharp Laboratories of Europe, in the UK, he contributed to the development of UV-violet laser diodes for Blu-Ray DVD readers. After that, he joined EXALOS where he has been leading the development of light sources with visible emission for more than 10 years.

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing Director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
