Common-cavity dual-comb lasers and their applications

Dual optical frequency combs (dual-combs) are superior tools for a wide range of laser metrology applications. Lately, common-cavity dual-comb lasers have emerged. This new class of ultrafast lasers have the potential to disrupt the laser metrology application space. In this presentation, a new type of a common-cavity laser architecture and some of its applications will be discussed.

Speaker

Dr. Justinas Pupeikis
Justinas Pupeikis is a post-doctoral BRIDGE fellow at Prof. Keller group, ETH Zurich. He is developing dual-comb lasers and exploring their application space. His research goals include practical deployment of novel common-cavity dual-comb lasers for laser metrology applications.

Moderator

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
