Photonics4MedTech – Manufacturing & Smart Assembly

The future of medical technology will not only be decided in the laboratory, but also in the scalability and automation of manufacturing systems. Highly complex optoelectronic assemblies – from intelligent pipette heads to autonomous diagnostic workstations – are placing new demands on next-generation production technologies.

Photonics technologies play a key role in this development: from precise laser-based material processing and microstructuring to optical inspection systems and intelligent assembly solutions. The workshop will provide exclusive insights into the interface between photonics, robotics, material processing, and industrial assembly for MedTech applications.

This event brings together experts from science and industry to discuss the future of medical technology manufacturing and to identify innovation potential. Participants will gain insights into state-of-the-art technologies and learn how innovations, particularly in photonic material processing and intelligent manufacturing, can be translated into efficient and scalable MedTech production.

The event starts with a workshop including keynote presentations, networking breaks, and a joint lunch at FHGR in Chur. In the afternoon, participants will transfer to Hamilton Instruments in Bonaduz for an exclusive factory tour followed by an apéro.
